Hey ive recently started playing Piccolo and im catching on quite quickly but i was just wondering if the tone on the lower notes is of the same quality of the notes of that pitch on flute?

Definitely not. The tone is very much `thinner`, although if you like that, then the term need not be seen as derogatory.
The piccolo is designed for playing high notes best.

If I understand your question, if you play a first octave G on piccolo, it would sound like second octave G on flute.

Sorry, let me rephrase, i was just wondering whether it was my bad playing or the nature of the Piccolo for the bottom notes on Pic to sound `crappy` (please excuse the choice of word) compared to the good tonal quality i`m used to on the Flute!
