OK - i know i already posted some `help me` stuff ... but this is more specific now - so i started an entire thread.
Is the fingering for Mid Stave D (the one within the stave) always so problematic or is it just because i am starting out. The fingerings around this note and moving a step either up or down from this D is so hard !
Any tips ?

You should try lifting left hand 1st finger. The fingering should look like this
023/456
B
B is for thumb. sometimes people use the incorrect fingering
123/456
B
the first finger just muffles the sonud

"....The fingerings around this note and moving a step either up or down from this D is so hard !.."
As long as you are actually doing the correct fingerings, and holding the flute appropriateley, just practice and get used to it. Soon enough, it will become as easy as getting a spoon into your mouth, which was once a seemeingly impossible task for you, and everybody else in the world!
Be thankful you are not learning classical guitar!

ARAK speaks the truth. & if I may add...There have been many exercises written around this issue but it is manageable if one is developing a good hand position. I seem to remember repeating the triplet DEF# for an hour lesson or two. CDED would also be a good thing to practice carefully.

Yep, you are correct. I do know that, I don`t know what I was thinking. I was just being an air head.
