I have been playing my sankyo flute for about a year and a half, and i just love it; its got a very lovely round sound, thick and extremely emotive - u can shape it to the color u want quite beautifully! i totally recommend the sankyo line to any budding student professional, even their low end ones (which are not low end at all!!)

in my opinion, they are wayyyyy better than altus flutes, a little better than miyazawa,

will try some powell`s in the future and see how they compare

Powell is also great. I find the two put together make a wonderful pair.
I am in the process of saving up for a Sanyko headjoint to put on my powell and I love it. I was suprised because I was always told how bright they were, and I found this one to be quite the opposite.

PS. I do like them a lot better than Altus too.

I got brochures for a lot of brand name flutes, one of which was sankyo and one flute, the most expensive was made of platinum or something and costed $400,000... nice price eh?

Thats alot for a flute all I have is a gemeinhardt and its a student flute Pus I`m only in middle school, But don`t u hate when theres someone with a better flute then yours and they act like there the best ,but let me tell u something ther are like 4 7th& 3 8th graders and I`m wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better then thome.

Well, I just got a Sankyo flute and I haven`t had a lot of opportunities to play it yet but from what I`ve already heard, it sounds amazing. I absolutely love it. I`ve been waiting 5 years for this flute and now I FINALLY have it. (sophomore)
