I found a page that has free flute lessons in PDF format as well as interesting flute accessories that I have seen no where else. The URL is: http://www.ellistrations.com/free_flute_lesson.htm
There are some very funny and weird flute pictures on the site as well.

Nice site. It is much better than that one guys way of explaining things on the sax forum. I think his name was Gordon Palmer or something?

I think Kara is referring to
http://www.saxontheweb.net/Resources/FluteLessons2.html
and possibly
http://www.saxontheweb.net/Resources/FluteLessons.html
The first of these is fundamentals for a very first lesson to get started, not an ongoing lesson program.
The second is stated to be an offering specifically for people going from sax to flute. It is acknowledged to be in a crude, unedited form, because it was never anything more than casual email correspondence, and was not intended for public presentation.
Both items were put on that web site, actually against the writer`s wishes, because so many people had found them so useful, and there were endless requests for the articles.
The writer who Kara refers to is, and always has been, open to CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. He would probably appreciate the benefit of her vast knowledge, providing it were constructive.
Personally, I would be most interested to know what Kara finds so difficult about the first item.
I look forward to Kara presenting some equivalent helpful information for starters on the flute.

Personally I think it`s stupid to have lessons over the internet without an actual human being with you telling you what to do. People could misinterpret information and have bad habits which the would only realize when they got a real teacher who corrected them.

A lot of truth in that, Scott, but for some people, for various reasons (eg geographical or financial), lessons with a live teacher are out of the question. Better to have SOME help than none at all.
We all respond differently to different styles of teaching, but personally, I think the site that this thread is about, presents some rather ambiguous teaching which could be quite misleading. Although some other other points are good.

Well, if you stopped being so conceited towards me and other for one minute and tried being nicer, I might bother with some of your posts.

Arak, you must be great friends witht he writter if you know all that.
I agree with Scott, I think that it could be quite conterproductive to teach over emails.
Arak, I am a flute instructer at a music and arts institute, so I do know how to give propper lessons (in person!)
I don`t think that I need to explain myself.
