If you could design your own flute, (not being practical, and where money is not an issue!) what would it be like? I think I would have the normal s. silver with open holes, but have the crown encrusted with tiny, tiny, diamonds. What about you?

I`d make it solid white gold and where there isnt open holes i`d have diamonds in the middle of the keys. That would be sooooo neatlio! The lip plate and chimney pure yellow gold. have my name engraved on the lip plate along with some notes and hearts. i`d make it shorter tho because my arms are short. have platinum key. silk pads. and teeny tiny diamonds around the ends of the flute. sounds pretty good huh?

I`d have a self-tuning flute. Lets face it, the world needs one of these things.

The self-tuning flute thing is an awesome idea. I also would have it made of solid gold, open hole,flower engravings on the headjoint and all the way down the body and-get this- anti-corrosion finish so it wouldn`t rust or get blacktop stain so I could march w/it. Now that would be one awesome, versatile flute!!!

Why dont you have it made of pure dimond because it`s stronger and is worth alot more.

You guys should all go to www.flutes4sale.com. They have a flute on there for sale for $24,000.00. It is made out of solid platinum, which is much more expensive than gold.

ooh and i like the sound of the diamond flute except i seriously hav like no muscle (not literally, duh) so it may b a bit heavy 4 me :S ah, a girl can dream

i would probally have a white gold flute and the self tuning idea is great. i would probally have someting purple on it considering that is my fav color. I would probally have my name engraved on it to because then it would be mine and only mine

i`d have a white silver flute with white gold trim on the keys. each note would only need one or two keys and it would always be in tune to the song you are tryin to play (NOW we`re gettin a little ridiculous here ya right!) i forgot wut i was gonna say, but that would be a kinda cool instrument to have.

I play clarinet as well as flute and my clarinet has a crystal mouthpiece. It`s not much heavier than my old rubber one.

I`d probably go for a rose gold flute (but I don`t know how they sound, but I love the color). I`d want silver mechanics, and a magic want so that it never tarnishes or gets scratched or has fingerprints on it. It would have open holes, and would fit perfectly to my hand.

The headjoint would be engraved with mythical creatures or roses (or both) and I might go for a silver or white gold lip plate, just for the color contrast. The keys would be really light and springy so they would respond quickly.

I like the self-tuning idea, so I`ll use that too.
