Hi, I have a silly question. What is the difference between silver clad and silver plated?

It is the same thing. Clad means plated when refering to flutes.

no..no.. silver clad is done diferently then silver plating. it is fused on or something like that.

Silver Plate and Clad is the same thing.
Auramite is when one metal is fused to another.
Alloy is when metals are mixed together.

(Auramite is unique to Powell as they patented the process)

The following website uses the term silver-clad with respect to a Pearl 501 model. I can say that in this case at least, it DEFINITELY means nothing other than silver-plating:
