I noticed a VHS tape, "Bird`s Eye View of a Flute Overhaul" on ebay was ending soon that was to show a detailed overhaul of a flute. I figured what the heck maybe I`ll learn something useful... I was the only bidder and won!

Well everything started normal enough. The flute was dismantled and the pads were taken out... I was falling asleep from boredom... and then out comes a blowtorch and the repair person burns the smallest pads off the flute. Interesting technique to say the least.

Once all the key work was removed a close up of some Silver polish was shown and the guy recorded himself cleaning every single piece of the flute. A little dog started running around on the floor to provide at least little distraction.

It was here that I just stuck the tape in a fast forward playing mode and struggled to stay awake.

Finally! The flute is being put to together. I was hoping to see how this guy does a pin adjustment when out comes and metal shoe-horn looking tool and the guy begins bending keys into place and finishing with adjusting screws.

Shock of shocks... the guy plays the flute and it plays. The odd things one finds on online.

Just a little review for those of you tempted to buy these things on Ebay. lol

Ha! Ha! I watched that tape at a friends house. We cracked up because of all the corny music being played in the back ground. I thought that the guy would at least talk the steps through. I wasn`t impressed.
