Oh no! I don`t know what I would ever do if I were allergic to my kitties and buns! Well, actually they do make my asthma a heck of a lot worse. My doctors says to get rid of them. I say NO WAY!

It is such a good thing my husband dropped out to seminary or he wouldn`t be with him today. I can`t picture him as a priest anyway. Lol!

It is too bad I don`t live more near you, it would be a blast to play two part harmonies to some of the songs at church. I did write a whole book of of flute parts for two flutes for a bunch of the songs in the Gather book. Are you familiar with that one? I have tons of music with awesome flute arrangements. I would love to email you some of them sometime so you could tell me what you think. If there is a song that your church is doing that you need a part to, let me know.

I should get it published, but...

The last day for mass, my husband and I played In the Sally Gardens with flute and keyboard. It was so pretty! I don`t think that there was a dry eye in the church. That was a very sad day. I had to leave my family behind, and I lost a baby the week before we were to move. Mabye stress, who knows?

hey kara, love your cats! i have one myself, and i miss her so (i`m staying in hostel now). ok, and so clearly i`m a uni student, majoring in English (Linguistics), and wondering if i should`ve done music instead but anyway it`s too late to change my major now. i`ve been playing piano since 6, picked up clarinet in school at 12, fiddled with the guitar from 17, and have just purchased a flute at 21. actually now that i think of it, i should`ve stuck with one instrument, instead of being vaguely mediocre at three. ah well. but i do hope i can become as proficient at flute as i am (was? haven`t played for years) at clarinet.

(is it just me, or do i need more breath support to play flute?)

and before i forget, let me show off my cat here:

My cat, Oscar Wild, sleeps with me. At age 10 he often catches and eats huge rats. Ho hum.

Playing flute needs no more breath suport, but it uses up FAR more air.
You will have to keep reminding yourself not to use a clarinet embouchure.... Don`t pull your lower lip tight against your lower teeth.

Raych, your cat is so cute! The flute is said to take the the most wind to play. Hmmm... maybe that is why us flutist are called air heads so much?! Lol!
