Well, here goes...

Flute

Brand - Pearl
Model- Elegante
Like it?- Yes!
Keys - open
Foot - B
Metal - solid silver
Other features - C# trill, D# roller
Different Brand head - no, but I`ve been considering maybe a Williams
Play piccolo? - yes
Modifications to flute - Added some cork to the thumb key because it was a bit clanky at times.
Ability - Advanced, but not pro
Education - BA, MS. Not in music, however.
Other - Studied klezmer, have played in jazz and rock bands, wind ensemble, orchestra, flute ensembles. Have monkeyed around with guitar effects with my pickup & amp. Chorus is neat, so is flange, but distorted flute just sounds demonic and wierd.

Piccolo

Brand - Armstrong
Model- 358
Like it?- Yes, it`s a solid little thing
Keys - silverplated
Material - wood

Oboe

Brand - Yamaha
Model - 411
Like it - Generally. Sometimes it`s a finicky little thing...
Material - Wood
Ability - Sometimes I`m good, and other times.... think soprano duck.
Other - Wind emsemble, orchestra, pit. Played a bunch of Christmas-y gigs last month. Actually get way more free-lance work on oboe than flute, despite being far better at flute. *sigh*

I think I filled out my flute survey wrong. Oops. Maybe we should steal the format of the one on Larry Kratz website. I think this one may have been a little confusing.

I didn`t know we were supposed to add all the gizmos and gadgets that we had on our flute.

Hi abbledy,
I bet your flute sounds amazing. I have never tried a Goosman head on my Powell yet. That sounds interesting.
My goal someday when I am super rich (yeah right!) is to get a vintage Powell made by Verne Q Powell himself.
