get a favorit song and play the song over and over try different notes untile the notes on the flute start to sound like your fav. song and, that is playing by ear

well wat i did was a lil more well thoughtout. pick key notes on the flute that r commonly used. i just picked up the flute so i don`t know them. i would asume Bb & Eb.
listen for those notes in a song. teach yourself wat the sound like and then wat the notes around them sound like in the middle ovtave first. then go into different registers.

keep on playing one note until u learn its sound and can spot it in any song, then choose another note and do the same. learn all of the notes and their sound and then pick a song to play by ear.
