Okay, check this one out guys. This is a silver one like people suggest that I do and this one has a Rhodolite gemstone in it.

I don`t see the purpose in the adornment of the crown myself but there has been some fairly positive talk about these lately:

Bilbo,
There really isn`t a purpose to my crowns except to look pretty. Some people like myself view the flute as more then just an instrument and like a piece of jewelry or art. I love jewelry and I am crazy about gemstones!

Kara your Gemstone Crowns look great! Will the crowns fit on any brand of flute? Oh I was thinking since the crowns are just for looks you could make them to match with people`s birthstones. I don`t know how much that would cost, but it`s just an idea. I might just buy one of your crowns some day, so look up October`s birthstone

Thanks Erin. I am not sure if I will be making anymore. The other two don`t seem to be selling. I do know that they fit, Armstrong, Pearl, Sanyko, Muramatsu, Yamaha, Jupiter and Emerson.

Kara - like you, I too see the flute as a piece of art, and I like the adornment of a custom crown. Do you ever make other crowns, I`m thinking of a solid silver crown with gold-plated accents.

Give me a two for one deal and I`d take `em. lol.

Two problems with your sales:
1. People don`t like to "buy it now". Allow bidding and just extend the length of time. "Buy it now" also robs you of the true value of your creations.

2. Wrong venue. 8notes currently caters to a rather small crowd with many of which being of a non-working age. Advertising this sale on the "FLUTElist" or Yahoo FluteNet and their 3000+ flute members each, would probably garner attention.

(I actually rather hate when someone mentions an ebay ad I`m watching on the flute lists... always racks up the cost )

McKenna`s crowns do not mention that they are plated as they are made so that you can visibly see that they are plated... so if the pictures of your crowns don`t show that you should mention it.

Kara,
Forgive me. I`m an idiot. I forgot that you were making/selling those crowns. They are quite pretty and because Micron mentioned the lack of testing of the Bigio ones (Actually Bigio self admitted he knows not why they improve the sound....or not...., Your crowns Kara, would make a nice crowning addition to any fine flute.

~bilbo..
So, Did I dig out ok?

Hi CatMan,
I don`t have any solid silver crowns right now, but if you let me know what make you would like, I could probably order one. As far as the gold accents go, yes I do, do that and would be happy to do that for you anytime.

Hi Stephon thanks for the tips. I have usually had very good luck with putting buy it now on flutes, but maybe I should put an auction on these crowns instead. Good point.

I only listed my auction on here so that people could see what I was talking about and get feedback from people. I wasn`t really trying to sell them to anyone on here. Though they are welcome to buy one. I just made them for fun, not for a huge profit. I am not a member of flutelist. Heck..I get lost on the Galway forum. Lol!

Hi Bilbo,
No worries, I wasn`t offended at all. Thanks for the kind works.
