I used to own an Armstrong and back then I wish I knew about nail polish. Oi!

(I LOVED my armstrong, still do)

Nail polish is good on those adjustment screws. I had a Gemeinhardt 3SB in HS that was constantly coming out of adjustment and the nail polish helped for a little while. I was so glad to get rid of the that flute.

I haven`t had to take a screwdriver to my Gemeinhardt 3SB for 9 years. It was only a few months ago that I had to as a repair person forget to replace my silencers and I had him do so while I waited, but he finished with a screw adjustment and did not check on whether the screws needed to be sealed.

I`ve never had an issue in such a long time, it never crossed my mind.

I did resort to using a screw driver and nail polish on my Gemeinhardt 3SB that one time as I had a funeral to play that week.

I don`t think my experience is unique, nor yours. Luck of the draw I guess.

Defending your Gemeinhardt again, I see. Reenie, I used to own a 3SHB, in High School and I had the same problem It was awful, I was also glad to see mine go.

<Added>

The screw driver wasn't the only tool I thought about using on my Gemeinhardt, my Dad's sledge hammer at the time looked very inviting.

I was sharing my own experience with a Gemeinhardt flute as had Reenie and now yourself.

I do not doubt either experiences, but Reenie brought up loose screw problems her Gemeinhardt and I brought up mine, considering they were the same model certainly was something for comparison.

Merely different experiences.

<Added>

Hey and also should i take out all the pluging thingys at once..or one at a time. what did you guys do? some ppl take everything out at once so..they struggle in the begining. hmm...suggestions?

Perhaps your not getting the same degree of a warm up one day that you did another.

Check out some of the little warmup excercises here:
http://www.thegalwaynetwork.com/pdf/shmusic.htm

Play through those before playing anything else and see what you think of your tone.

Ahhh...my tone. It's nice to concentrate on my tone, and hear that nice sweet sound again. I haven't been concentrating lately and just been blowing like i'm a beginer. Thanks, those are really nice. Sry i only did it for 15 minutes..i think i should do more. There's so much things to remember every time i play. My weakest playing ability is tone..MUST CONCENTRATE^^ THANKS A LOT!! I feel great

hey schoolgirl0125! I own a 461 and they were right. It has a very sweet sound. In fact I was able to afford the 481 and didn't buy it even though it cost more which would mean that it's better? I didn't think so. I tried them both for a long time then decided. that's what you should do. And It is a good price. I bought mine for the same price 9 years ago. I haven't checked but they must be more now. I play an "offset G" too. (because I had carple tunnle syndrome a long time ago) still don't let anyone tell you there's anything wrong with that. You have to feel good about the flute when it's all said and done. that's the most important thing. take your time. you'll be able to figure it out.
