Since I last posted here about selecting flutes (Thanks to all who responded!!!!), I have acquired (for trial) a Pearl Elegante (has offset G, Split E, and soldered tone holes), A Muramatsu GX (with heavy walled tubing), and I still have not counted out the Yamaha I`ve had for a while, a YFL-774H (All solid silver, including the keys).

This is my "final three", I`m going to buy one of these flutes.

Please, I`d love to hear from anyone with any opinions or knowledge about any of these three flutes.

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a Pearl Elegante but with drawn toneholes, not soldered. I really like it and have not had any mechanical issues with it except for the thumb keys were a bit clacky. Apparently the felt compressed and allowed metal to contact metal. My service tech replace it with cork and it`s been wonderful ever since. The stock head was a bit free-blowing for my taste, but I recently acquired a more resistant head which gives me the beefy lower register that I like so much.

I liked the Miyazawa and Muramatsu that I tried also, but went with the Pearl because it felt the best to me and gave me more options for the same price. But try them all and see what you like best.
