What an idiot! Lol! If you are going to sell something on ebay, at least have a clue or due your research to find out what the heck it is. People really amaze me sometimes in their stupidity.

Haha that`s great! What a fool that seller is. It`s unbelievable that someone could not know it was a piccolo, or at least that it wasn`t a normal flute. It`s not like there`s only a very slight size difference! Hehe.

An Armstrong on reducing Pills?

Actually, the Flauto Piccolo, being the smaller member of the flute family is, as the Italian terminology suggests a "Small Flute".

The problem is that since the flute family has names for all of our members.
Piccolo
Flute
Alto Flute
Bass Flute etc.

What is our flute called that diferentiates it from the others?
Are we usually playing the "Soprano Flute"? Then the Flauto Piccolo should be called the Sopranino Flute.
Oh well..Answering this question isn`t going to make us play any better.
I`m back at the scales....>>>

So..maybe that person wasn`t a musician..so what? If i didn`t play flute, or wasn`t involved in band. I would of called that a mini flute^^. that`s a cute name..

Piccolos, I would say are mini flutes, but the thing that makes me upset about that is that the seller should know the proper name.

Micron,
I would not be so quick to use the phrase "widely known" in that instance.
From a small glossary at:
http://www.fluteworld.com/Merchant/glossary.htm

Eb Flute (Soprano)
It is smaller in size than the C flute and sounds a minor third higher. It is a transposing instrument used mainly in flute choir music.

You know it funny, I was at a music store yesterday with my daughter (8 years old) and she said "Daddy, you need one of those little flutes." I took the opportunity to explain to her what a piccolo is and that it is an evil instrument in the wrong hands, namely mine.

Bob,
Good one. I always call my Piccolo the assault weapon of the Orchestra.

I purposely don`t write music with piccolo in it because I hate the piccolo so much. The only it was ever good for was the Solo in Stars and Stripes!!

Hey don`t be hatin` the piccolo so much. I happen to love it and I know a few others out there love it too. It is the shining light of the orchestra not the assault weapon!
