Oh, Kara! It wouldn't take an entire plane! Don't be so harsh! You too, Patrick! Your photo looks very nice! You look very handsome and not at all like it would take an entire plane to get you airborne!

Ahh... pizza! I haven't had a good pizza since I moved from NY. I don't think they know what pizza is in my state. Speaking of pizza I have a funny story.....

My husband and I decided to go to a Pizza Hut when we first moved here. This is just to show some of the mentality where I live. Sad, I know. Anyway, we ordered half pepperoni and half green peppers. The waiter asked us which side we would like the green peppers on and which side we would like the pepperoni on. He couldn't understand, so he had to get his manager to take out order. Needless to say, they botched our order up. Lol!!!!

Hello there! I'm new to this forum, so I suppose this survey will serve as an introduction of sorts.

THE FLUTE

What Brand is your primary flute?
Tom Green

What model or model number?
No model number...All his flutes are entirely handmade by himself and his two sons. It's serial number 230, though.

How old is it?
I bought it last August at the NFA flute convention

Do you like it?
Yes. It's absolutely perfect for me

What is your favorite feature on your flute?
C-sharp trill. So much is possible with the addition of that one little key, and Tom Green places it right next to the first trill, which makes using it in combination with the other trill keys so much easier.

Is there anything you would change on it?
I'm pondering getting the lipplate and mechanism engraved, but other than that, there is absolutely nothing I would change.

Open or Closed Keys.
Open hole

What material is your flute made of?
Solid 14K tubing, with sterling rings, ribs, crown, and mechanism

Do you use the headjoint supplied with the flute? If not what do you use?
Yup, I had my choice between about ten 14K heads from various makers, and none could even come close to matching the one that came with it.

What is your dream flute?
The one I've got.

Have you made any modifications to your flute?
Nope.

Other Features you`d like to mention?
Offset G, C-sharp trill, and D-sharp roller

B or C foot
B foot

Anything else about your flute you want to mention?
It was played by both William Bennett and Trevor Wye at the convention and given exuberant praise by both.

THE PICCOLO (Ignore this section if you don`t play piccolo)

What Brand is your piccolo
I have 3, actually. I play a Zentner for concert music, I have a Yamaha YPC-32 from my marching band days, and a Boston Wonder Db piccolo.

What model is it?
No idea if Zentners or Boston Wonder even had different models, but the Yamaha is a YPC-32

What material is your piccolo made of?
Zentner-Grenadilla
Yamaha-Resin body, silver plate head
Boston Wonder-Silver plate

Do you like it?
The Zentner is fantastic. It's been called "the best headjoint/body combination I've ever played" by several professional musicians and repair techs

What is your dream piccolo?
The Zentner I have, or a 14K Haynes

Anything else about your piccolo you want to mention?
Nope

THE MUSICIAN

How long have you been playing flute?
9 years

What Musical Education have you received?
I've had private lessons starting in 5th grade, and all throughout middle and high school (essentially the whole time I've been playing), and am entering college as a Music Ed major next fall.

What is your favorite flute piece?
Carnival of Venice and David Chesky's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra

How would you rate you playing level? (Be Honest )
Advanced

How would you classify yourself musically? (technichian, student, professional, other)
Student

Anything Else you`d like to add about yourself?
Nope

Good to meet you, Flutist06! Welcome!

Hah! Joe, you have a killer sense of humor!

I have not had a bad experience at Pizza Hut like that; poor Kara! I normally don't really eat pizza. Like Patrick said, you can't really get any good pizza anywhere but NY... When I was there for an extended visit a few years ago, the pizza was just about the only thing I would eat! I remember there was a great pizza house about a block or two from where I was staying! I have not had the pleasure of tasting foreign pizza, though. Traveling all over the world for performances sounds great; you get to do what you love and eat interesting food and meet great people and see great things... I love travel!
(Oh, I do have a bad pizza story, though... don't read this if you want to ever look at pepperoni the same way! I was eating at a pizza parlor where a friend of mine worked and, no kidding, there was a roach leg in the pepperoni... I can tell you that was the last time I ate there! Maybe that is why I never eat pizza anymore... hum... )

NJ pizza, huh? Sounds nice! I have to remember that, if I am ever on the east coast some time soon, I have to eat pizza for every meal: that way I can taste everything and give the full pizza report! Then, maybe I will join in with Kara and Joe and Patrick with their fleet of personal airplanes and they will have to tell me the best techniques for slipping through greased doors!

Lol! If you think getting through the doors on those things is hard, try getting into one of those bathrooms! On top of that, I always get stuck sitting next to some really skinny guy that take both arm rests and half of my side too including his foot. And I am supposed to fit my arms where? My chest takes up more then half of the room. Lol!! :O
