What is the difference between a 72SP and a 2SP? I am able to find the 2SP all over the USA, but can't find the 72SP except for England. Is there a difference in flutes or is the 2SP an American flute and 72SP the English flute?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You

i am by no means an expert in this field, but recently i have had to look into this exact matter and will humbly offer you my opinion. i bought my daughter's flute at a crowded school band meeting not too long ago. without any thought to what i was really buying, i unquestioningly forked over a check for $489 that night. a few days later my daughter brought home a gemeinhardt 52sp and everyone was happy.

well, three weeks later it was badly damaged and i've had to call the store (out of town)to find out what exactly the 52 means, in order to find something comparable. answer: it is a "limited edition," and with the exact features of the 2sp: c foot, silverplated headjoint (hence the "sp"). thanks to some nice people on the forum, i have found the 2sp for $299 at music123.com and wwbw.com.

well, now i know what the 52 means--52% markup (to be fair, the local store is exactly that, a local store with only two branches.) anyway, so my advice would be to ask the seller of the 72sp what the 72 actually means. it may just be another "limited edition."
