"Earplugs, anyone?" is pretty funny!!! On a t-shirt the piccolo players had for marching band one year, we just had a picture of a pair of earplugs and on the back of the shirt it announced who we were and what we played and what band we belonged to. So, no one got why there were earplugs on the front of the shirt until they saw the back...
(We did stuff like this for every section. The majorettes and commanders had "bossy" tee's on and every section in the band had a picture of something that related to the instrument that only a musician would really get!)
(I also saw a t-shirt style at a game once where there was a pep band: It was "This one time, at pep band..." I don't really like those "this one time" jokes, but I thought it was clever...)

Don't do it, schoolgirl! It's not a very polite joke. The movie is more of a parody of kids who take more interest in their "physical recreation" than playing an instrument, trust me!

Yea that American Pie thing is lame...Oh my band director had this joke about piccolos that he told me, but I can't remember it. It took me a while to get it lol but it was funny. BUt what am I telling you for I'll use for our shirts =P

Yeah, it's not very funny. At least once a week, some one comes up to me and says that joke and laughs like a loony... It just gets old. And, seeing flute players with that saying on a sticker on their cases; that just bothers me, personally. Yea, it's funny, but it's also pretty sick!

we did the same thing in high school. our shirts said "big instruments make up for lack of talent."

"Piccolos are accidental prone"

"Our piccolos were tuned at the factory. So, it's the others that are off!"
