I recenlty purchased a wooden flute with an open G# key. I'm having a heck of a time with it since I'm used to my closed G# Koregelos. Does anyone have experience playing both types and can you offer any advice?

Just kicking this up in the list. Hopefully I'll get some feedback on this.

I have not done it myself, but know some who have, they told me that you will eventually get used to it but it will take time. A good flute tech should be able to convert it to closed G#

Thanks I figured it might just take time. I'm pretty much opposed to having the flute converted to closed #G. In general I'm opposed to modifying instruments unless done by the original manufacturer. In this case, being and East German maker who is no longer in existence, I will not do that.
