Do you guys think I could learn to play my neighbor's tenor sax? Summer band is always really deficient for saxophones.

I'll be in summer band. I really MUST play Stars and Stripes, you know, or my piccolo would be disapointed.

Hey Patrick, I want to go too! It has been ages since I have had a good pizza! Lol!

<Added>

This summer I plan to try to squeeze as many visits in with my friends and family in different states. I definitely want to go visit Dennis and then I have another flute friend in RI that I would like to see again. While in RI I might go back to Boston and get a few more flute lessons from Mr. Curran. There is so many places and people that I would like to see!

On top of that:

Lots of weddings to play for in the summer! Band concerts etc...
Selling flutes as usual.
Swimming.
Going to the movies and going to eat at the Olive Garden. Mmmm... yummy!
Just plain having fun!

Marching band stuff!!! As a majorette, I am going to get no personal time! Not such a bad thing, but we have a new director (we always do) and he is already calling me about questions... he has a habit of calling at dinner... gah!

Besides marching band, I am going to play for tons of weddings and other things. I am going to join another community band that just started nearby and hopefully meet a few good conductors this summer who can give me tips and stuff on my classwork for college!

Although it isn't as exciting as having a pizza (with Joe) () I will be hanging out with my friends and enjoying the warm summer sun!!!

(Yes, Tibbiecow!!! Play Stars and Stripes!!! Your piccolo will be happy; mine was! I performed that as a duet with another gal just a few weeks ago! Watch out for the trills! )

Well let's see...I'm headed to Disney World as soon as school lets out (as my graduation present), and then later in the summer I'm going to be going to Vermont for one of Landell's repair workshops. I'm also trying to figure out if I have to time for a few masterclasses over the summer, and of course I'll be playing in a local community band, as well as an orchestra based around here (and any other group that will have me), and practicing copiously as I prepare for the start of my college days. And at the end of the summer, I get to go to band camp at the U. of Northern Colorado, as marching is a requirement for all Music Ed. Majors. It's gonna be busy, but I'm looking forward to this summer more than usual...

I'm planning on taking lessons from various teachers to try to soak up new opinions. TRYING to sell a flute and buy a new one. Also, I need to practice marching baritone.

Well I'll be trying to scrape money together because I have less work in the summer. I will be doing Speech Therapy with some kids. Going up in the mountains to a cabin with girl scouts/moms. Working on home repairs. Playing every Sunday at church. Playing with a summer sight reading orchestra like last summer ( but only if hubby gets to play too, otherwise we'll take this summer off together).

AND....to announce my big news......I am now officially a grandma to a five month old baby (DNA results are in), my 17 year old son is a daddy (very long and complicated story). Okay kids, learn your lesson from this, JUST DON'T DO IT!!!!

Sometimes I REALLY long for a boring life.

During the summer I usually start to practice more since I don't have that much time during the school year to practice. Usually I practice around 6 hours a day in the summer.

Flutist06, you're a Music Ed. major, too? So am I! U of Colorado? Is it really nice there? Right now, where I am taking classes, there is no marching requirements, which makes me sad. I am a marching fanatic, and they offer no classes on it!

Congrats, Kippsix!! A grandmother? Grandmother's are very special people; it's like they hold the key to life or something just as important. You know, sometimes a boring life is a life not worth living! Ride the waves of life and hope your boat is strong enough to last the storm! I am so happy for you!

Celebrian: Yes, I'm an Ed major. Once I get my credential and am able to teach, hopefully I'll find a job out here in California teaching at the high school level. At some point I'll also go after a performance degree, and possibly chase orchestral auditions. UNC is beautiful....It has a wonderful campus, and I'm looking forward to a break from California very much.

Schoolgirl, just to clarify, are you going to Disneyland, or Disneyworld? Disneyland is in California, and Disneyworld is in Florida.
