I just hope that it lives up to its name as being an adult or adult like forum and we don't get all that teeny bopper stuff on there. Some good adult conversation will be nice for a change.

It sucks (I learnt this strange expression in this Forum, hope I use it correctly) to know that so many valuable memebers are leaving.

For pretty much the same reasons, and because I feel like the forums up here on 8notes are fun but not particularly regulated, I've started a woodwinds forum of my own, hosted on my own domain name and server space, and completely ad-free.

I'd like to start a large community, and if this project actually takes off, then I'll be that much happier.

The posts will be regulated more severely than here on 8notes and the threads will get pruned for dead entries. If anyone's interested in joining, I'll be continuing to slowly build it up at the following URL : http://www.wordinprogress.com/music/

I hope to see a lot of you there, and if you know people from the other 8notes forums, feel free to invite them along.

I know I said that this was my last week posting, but I think I will end it here and not go through the rest of the week. I just wanted to wrap things up and say goodbye to friends. Besides, I need to focus more on other things then the flute right now.

good bye everyone i was only here for a short time and i understand i am a kid and will not even think about joining the other forums perticulary Dennis's because i don't want to turn it into something he does not want it to turn out like (i however will be reading them just to learn)

i would also like to say sorry about one of my posts
it was about how much i could not wait for my flute to be cleaned and that might have been where Dennis said about the kid part so sorry for everyone that was grouped into that if it was only me

i am a little afraid though what if i have a question about the flute that non of the kids know if people like kare and dennis and all of the other people are gone i really don't know where to find the answer from real people that will help me (if anyone can give me another forum with a lot of people that know what they are doing i would like to hear about it)

There are lots of people who don't mind answering your questions. Feel free to continue posting, and don't let being a young adult gt in your way. You have to ask questions to learn, and there will be plenty of people here who are interested in helping.

Hey, don't feel sorry. When he refers "kids" to be considered bad...i had a feeling he was refering to me as well! I bet all the kids here had a weird feeling. Well, there's still pro flutists here so we could keep on asking questions.

SomeRookie, don't feel bad -and guilty! for what is going on here. Adults are difficult to understand, not to say how difficult we are to deal with.

Some people have moved to Dennis' site and others are posting there and here and in several other places, but you can be sure that the problems that made a few decide to leave were neither your responsibility nor your fault.

Dennis has started a quite different site, with a different orientation and goals and I support that; though I would have liked that he and other members continued sharing their time (and their so valuable knowledge) with us. But it could not be and that's it.

In your case I would not post at a site that is so clearly named and reserved for "Adults", in the same way I would not post at a site clearly reserved for kids or teens. But reading and learning there is OK of course, I also do it.

But there's lot of fun and information here, and the participation of all of us, that have so many things to learn, (as you, me and many others), helps in keeping the site alive and renewed.

At least, that is what I hope.
