That's really great Micron. Julius Baker is one of my idols, so I particularly enjoyed that. Thanks!

Very interesting, though I must confess I did not know him. How ignorant!, sorry.
But for that it's never too late and now I will get some of his recordings if I can. He has an amazing sound.

Thanks for the link.

That's surprising to me that you've never heard of him, but there's always something new to learn. Definitely look for some of his recordings....He was considered one of the greatest flutists of the past century for a reason. Truly a magnificent musician.

Nice interview. I enjoyed this read.

Jose, I actually have some of his recordings on record. He has a very different sound in my opinion. You should see if you can find some of his recordings. It's always nice to hear different styles from famous flutists.

Thanks. Certainly I will try to get some records from him.
I know very few flutist masters, and most are European.

This is a personal limitation I am actively trying to solve.

I always felt a special attraction for this particular instrument, but as I procrastinated so long before starting to study it, it is only recently that I am really interested in deep. And I have lots to learn, not only in its playing but also in listening and knowing about the great masters.

BTW, I am looking for recordings of Haendel Hallenser sonatas.

I have got one version by Stephen Preston (really too much adornments!) and I have seen another by Trevor Wye (but could not listen to it).

Does anybody know if there are commercial versions by A. Nicolet (or his disciple E. Pahud) or by JP Rampal?
