has anyone played the penderecki concerto? its what im currently working on and it certainly is nasty. Any one got any tips?

Graham, are you still in music school?? Pieces like this don't get performed very often for a reason, and I actually some of Pendrecki's music

yeah im in my final year and for my end of year recital i decided to play the concerto as its a great example of contempory flute i spoken with my tutor and asked some of the national pros about it and all seem to think its within my abilities. Patrick have u played it?, if so how did u find it? im finding it tricky yet interesting and very rewarding.

I avoid most pieces like this as I am not a huge fan of the genre, I like the Jolivet concerto for flute/strings, also the Ballade by Frank Martin is one I really like, but I am not a big Pendrecki fan re his flute music
