im in the middle of a lesson right now and my student doesnt quite understand my explanation of breath support - pretend youre trying to lift a brick from the pit of your stomach with your breath.

do any of guys have some ideas for explaining breath support that way i can explain it to her without out her thinking im on crack? or at least so she can understand me somewhat?

thanks

Have your student sing HO HO HO like santa. It will help the student feel the diaphram easier. I had a pretty long answer on another thread about this before. If I can find it again, I will post the link for you.

explain to her how a bag pipe works, the balloon effect, or blow up a balloon and squeeze out the air

I had a vocal teacher hit me in the stomach while i was singing, they stopped just before they hit me like an inch from my sternum. Instant breath support
