Yup, it's that time of year again! My band director decided on a really energetic Beatles show (w00t!).

What shows are you all doing this year?

I just had a show today....so i thought i wouldnt feel left out and post a message, lol. We went to a Performing Arts centre and watched all these other schools play/sing/dance (to) songs. We had two bands from our school playing. The Blues'n'Jazz Band and theres the Intermediate Band which I'm in. BnJ played first while the IB played last...

Our first performance too! ....dont laugh but Our school was really the only school playing instruments AND to top it off... we were the only High School Band, lol

We're doing a civil war show.. Pretty hard, & it's my first year. I'm nervous, haha.

That's cool about the Civil War show...My sophomore year, my high school's sister school did a Civil War show, and for part of it, the entire flute section switched over to fifes that they had hidden in their uniforms....It was really cool (but I might have been more enthusiastic than other people since I play fife and flute). Maybe you guys could pull off something similar....

Last year my school did a war themed one too. But it was WWII, and not the Civil War. It was "interesting." lol.

I'd love to do something like that flutist06, but my band director tries to make everything easy.. Besides, he already has the whole show planned and we've learned the whole drill, music, etc. I'll see if I can persuade him to do something like that next year though! I'm gonna try to get him to let us play mission impossible songs next year for our marching show. Everyone's been nagging at him to let us do it, but he never does.. Wish me luck, lol!

Yup...My freshman year, we did Chuck Mangione. It was a really fun show, and probably my favorite to date. We did Feels So Good, Chase the Clouds Away, Children of Sanchez, and Land of Make Believe.

My marching band did Chuck Mangione. However, can I admit that it was music that was currently popular at the time. ;-)

Haha! Judy I can really relate to that statement. When the question was asked if anyone knows who Chuck Mangione is....I felt very old!

Sure does. If you've ever seen the show "King of the Hill," he has some cameos there where he plays Feels So Good.
