Well, it'll depend on exactly what you're looking for, and what make and model you'd want them for. You might consider buying a cheap flute off eBay (or usedflutes, or wherever) that matches what you're looking for and then pulling it apart for parts. What do you want flute parts for?

Just thought I'd clarify...by cheap flute, I mean an inexpensive one, not a junk flute like Venus, Selman, etc...The best way to be sure that the parts will fit properly is to find a flute that's the same make and model as the flute you want the parts for. Even just the one joint with the necessary parts could be good enough for your needs, and things like this come up rather often on eBay for very low prices.

Oh...Are you sure it's worth the time and effort (and money) of trying to repair it? I mean, you've already gotten 4 years out of an instrument that usually doesn't last more than about a year, and with that new flute you just got, it might be time to move on. Repadding (done properly) is not something that you should try without training, as it's very precise work, and difficult to get right, and even if you could find a tech to do the work on a First Act, it likely would cost just about as much as a replacement at the same level.

It's a different flute. THe one she just got is a Simba, and this is her First Act we're discussing. She's had it for 4 years already, so any warranty that might have existed most likely no longer applies.

For the A screw I would think about contacting First Act. I am sure they could send you one. A lot of repair techs have many differents replacement parts that might work. As far as the pads go, I agree with the others, leave the padding to a gppd repair tech. It is nothing something that can be learned over night. You will need proper training and tools to do so.

It is something that can't be learned just overnight. Kara now is going to bed...

Lera, how did you set the pads? Where did you get your pads clamps from? I have heard of several different methods, and am just curious which one you used.

J.L. Smith has a lot of repair supplies and might be able to help you.

Thats great. So what was the method you used to seat your pads?

<Added>

That book is really good that you mentioned. What do you think of page 11, were you able to get that to work?

I done Repading on it before so I think I can do thet ones again.

If you have done it before, why not just get the pads where you did the last time? You must play it a lot to have to re-pad it so often. Reading a book and having hands on training are entirely two different things. Could someone read a book on how to fly a plane then fly it without any repercussions? Go out and find yourself a good technician. Call the big name flute stores on the web and send them your flute. Get references. If a repair person will be willing to fix your first act flute then he/she could find or make a screw for that a key.

how did you re-pad your flute? it sounds tricky, you are brave.

Andrew, if you are willing to wait until tomorrow (I don't feel like typing everything out that I would need to), I will write you a private message with everything I learned from Jon Landell about repadding/basic maintainence. I still would not recommend trying it without a knowledgable and experienced repair tech present at least for the first couple tries, but it never hurts to understand what goes into work like that.

Andrew, perhaps Lera is not answering because she does not know herself.
Chris, that is very nice of you

Well, I like to help people out when I can. Hopefully Andrew will find my message useful once I get it written.
