Thanks to Flutist06 (Chris?) for the advice on listening to the low brass (rather than the other flutes, as suggested by the conductor) in the orchestra that I just joined. I can happily say that I *was the one in tune. Yay! Plus, we sightread new music, and that is my one musical talent, so it was basically a good evening at practice. I needed an evening of feeling like I knew what I was doing. Coming back to something after 20 years is mind-boggling.
