I know I don't have the EC cut headjoint, but is the headjonit with the 225SII the CY cut and is it by chance solid silver? sorry this is so long but my Gemmie headjoint sucks and I had this Yammmy laying around so i used it instead

The cut should indeed be the CY cut, but I'm not sure about material (not that that matters as much as the cut and the player). However, there is an easy way to tell. If it's plated, the part of the head that slips into the bnody will be a different color of metal than the rest of the head (brassier), but if it's solid silver, it will maintain the silver color even into this part of the head.

Thanks! I've been thinking about upgrading to a silver headjoint(I have a Gemeinhardt 2SP) but had one the whole time( I got it with a out of shape Yammy from a friend)!

I would be less concerned with the fact that the head is silver than with the cut. The silver doesn't matter nearly as much as the craftsmanship put into the head. I'd rather play a Louis Lot plated head than a silver Cibaili any day.

I agree, and every time I hear that "brand" you mentioned, I think of how scary it is that those flutes could end up with horrible headjoints.
