i recently was loaned an Opperman piccolo from my private lesson teacher's old student. i just wanted to know if anyone had any information on it, because i've never heard of an Opperman!

it plays well. i think it's ironwood (brown w/ black grain) and it has 2 headjoints, one which is the same wood and matches the color of the body but a second that is darker. and it's got an 'H' on it. i think the keys are silver-plated, because some of it is rubbing off and they're looking like an antique gold color.

thanks in advance =]

(my internet is down, so i probably won't reply anytime soon)

Opperman's are very high quality custom piccolos. Most likely that second head is in grenadilla wood. You're lucky that they were willing to loan such a nice instrument out.
