Hello! I wanted to know if anyone here has experience playing with a headjoint that includes a platinum riser. I know that many of you are very experienced.. so I would love to know what you think of the sound quality? the difference between sterling and platinum? and is it worth the price? I know these are subjective...but any thoughts you all have would be appreciated!!!!

There have several threads discussing this and related issues in this Forum in the recent past. Make a search and you will probably get much information.
In general the opinions have been that the value (price) of the metal used for the headjoint have little or no impact on the quality of the sound produced (if we do not consider the differences in the mechanical and design quality and type of HJ that are usually related with higher quality materials).
I recall comments on the use of special metals for the lip plate, particularly useful in case of allergies. I do not know about the effect of risers in general, but sure you will get more specific answers in a short time.
