Hey Toni, it will help recovery if you take care of your mood. Not joking... The situation inside your mind can help you get better or help the illness to develop (so you get worse... :-)

Hi Toni,
Sorry you're at home. I missed Honors Band waaay back when I was a Junior in high school. So when I went the next year(my senior year), I was a 2nd flute, about 8th chair, instead of a 1st as I would have been if I had gone the year before. It was a big bummer until the director became upset about his lack of piccolo- it seems that the high school where we were playing had a piccolo-hating director. Anyway, they dug one up from the bandroom, and nobody else wanted to play it but me...that's where I learned that 3rd flute parts are often more fun than 2nd- you move (musically) when everyone else stays on one note, and such.
I was unfortunately sick quite a bit in high school, and college, too. Found out I have fibromyalgia, for which there really is no cure. It is ALWAYS a bummer not to be able to go, when you're sick, but I promise something else fun will come up, and you'll go. For now, you'll just have to bury yourself in your AP work. Feel better!

Oh Toni, that really stinks! I am so sorry.
Life can be so unfair at times to the nicest of people too.
I hope you feel better soon, we are all rooting for you.
