OK I take back some of what I said about conductors. (in my piece about the London Philharmonia) Today on the Ovation channel they showed a piece on Ben Zander. He is a former cello player that is now a conductor. He also does motivational speaking. He was SO inspiring and interesting! He is the kind of conductor I would want to have. I think it was filmed in 1998 so I don't know if he is still with the Boston Philharmonic or not. Does anyone know?

It was an excellent show for anyone who is interested. The title was Zander: Life on one buttock.
