About Kippsix's clip, I have heard of that one before, and I must say, SOMEONE'S GOTTA PLAY THOSE EIGHT NOTES!!!!! And I noticed through the clip, he mentioned violas, but Pachelbel never scored the cannon for ANY violas, just three violins, cello, and basso continuo. Perhaps I'm the only one who finds it more annoying than funny...

its supposed to be humorous...because it's true. but you ruin it for youself when you decide not to look past details like the fact that he mentioned violas. not a big deal though.

I guess my admiration for other people and their work blinds me from the humor, but, oh well.

Well, I may sound weird but I do like that canon. Not for everyday listening, but is a nice work, simple but effective. Has it just 8 notes (same as this site) or how many, I do not care.

I could find no humor in this tube, but slightly annoying lack of respect for the past and the culture, but in any case it's just my opinion. I must confess the guy speaks too fast and I miss some parts of his ideas, in case they were there.

<Added>

Forgot to comment about the 2 fathers song. I find it amazing (and probably something only possible in modern Holland) to make a song on a reality that has brought so much controversy, have a child sing it and other children chorus it. But I give a 20 out of 20 for the authors and performer. A much welcome and needed exercise in tolerance.

I thought it was funny, only because I can't stand that piece! Why? Because it is played over and over and over again and is sOOOOOOOO boring!

Edit button not there? Well, I forgot to add that I have had to play it at EVERY wedding that I have had to play at. I refused to have it played at my wedding.

I know I'm probably a bit odd, but I do like the canon. I played a version of it today as a matter of fact. The instruments play it under a counter melody ("Make Us a Eucharistic People" by Tim/Julie Smith) that is sung as a Communion song during Mass. Today it was a flute, a clarinet and a piano (alas, the violinist was not there today). I sounded gorgeous, if I do say so myself!
But, if I played it as frequently as Kara mentioned, I know that I would get sick of it also, just like any other piece.
