That might not do any good, Micron. The website says:
All Muramatsu flutes sold by Muramatsu America include a professional leather case, fleece lined nylon or unlined leather case cover, rosewood cleaning rod, swabbing cloth, Muramatsu wiping cloth and maintenance guide. Flutes sold by Muramatsu America or an authorized dealer come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Mr. Ervin Monroe, president of Muramatsu America.

If it said something about their authorized dealers as well in the section about case covers and the like, then the challenge would absolutely be warranted, but the way the website is written, there is nothing there that says that all of their dealers will supply case covers or any of the other accessories listed with every flute, but as it is, it only states that Lutz should have received a certificate of authenticity.

I should note that the bolding was my addition, and does not appear on the website.

I thought that it made more sense to skip the intermediate flute too, but wasn't quite sure.

I'm fine with the case cover thing, and the case cover I bought is really nice!! I was just curious about that. And I'll be sure to check the certificate of authenticity when my flute arrives!

Well, actually, it's because the EX is a high intermediate/introductory pro flute, and usually you don't expect people to buy two different levels of intermediate flute as they progress through instruments.

What kind of case cover did you get? I'm a big fan of Cavallaro case covers (I have one for my best piccolo), and Altieri case covers (I have one for my gold flute, plus an Altieri carrying bag). If it was either of those, it should serve you well for a long time.

I like the cavallaro case covers also but after many years of searching for the one I liked best the Alteri was my favorite because there is none of the fuzzy like sythetic sheep skin linning to shed and look worn after time and then also the Alteri's zipper opens to more of the side of the case as where the cavallaro open more to the top making it harder to keep the case still in the cover when opening it. It just made like easier for me when I was at gigs and having to get my flute out in a fast convienent way.

I've never had problems with the sheepskin shedding, but I do agree that the Altieri cases open in a more convenient way. Personally, I'm not too picky about case covers, but I would tend to lean towards Altieri as well. The Cavallaro you got should certainly serve you well, though.

I'm really excited, my flute will be shipped tommorow and should get here thursday and if not then for sure friday!! I can not wait for it to get here!

I'm ok with the cavallaro case cover and if I have issues with it I can always get the other brand.

You better let us know what you think of the flute once you get a chance to play it at home/school/wherever you usually do! I hope it meets all your expectations!
