Hi. Im doing grade 8 hopefully pretty soon and I think I need a flute update since I've had my Yamaha 211S since I started. I have been looking at several models and makes and Im not sure what to choose.
I've looked at a Pearl 765 RBE Quantz flute, brand new for approximately £740, some yamaha flutes from 400 series - 700 series, Trevor James, Miyazawa, Muramatsu and Sankyo. Which would you recommend. Thanks.

I agree with Micron. You need to playtest them all and see which one you prefer.

I can tell you which flute brands I would pick out of the bunch that you listed, but I agree with Flutist06, it is up to you to make that desicion.

Now if Powell was on the list, that would be my first choice. The Signature series is a wonderful flute. Then I think it would be a toss up between Miyazawa or Yamaha. If it were up to me, Trevor James and Pearl would not even make it on the list. That is just my personal opinion though.

Sorry, I forgot to put the first paragraph in quotes.

I agree with the others.
The flute that suits you best is probably the one you best like to play, because it plays well for YOU and is probably well adjusted.

I forgot to mention, but in that price range you also have the option of Sonares, Amadeus', and Azumis. They may suit you well, and would be worth giving a playtest.
