How do you decrecendo/dim. without going flat?

another thing...isit normal to have some whistle tones when going softer? or isit something that will go Poof with proper practice?

angle the air higher with the chin as you decrescendo, has always worked for me...keep the air constant as Micron suggests, as I state over and over in this forum, my airstream is always very fast, I just am able to control the pitch with the angle of the air...

don't cover the tone hole, you will go flat and sound stuffy and never never never roll your flute in and out...
