I've been playing the flute for 7 months now with the flute in the wrong position and I now have to start over. I was playing with it supported on my lip instead of the lip plate resting on my chin. This caused my lip to tire quickly and my tone to deminish as I played. Well during most of this 7 month period of course I did not have a flute teacher. I do now but wish I had from the start. Now I have to retrain my embouchure. I guess I'm a good example of how important a teacher is.

Get a teacher if you can other wise you will wind up like me having to relearn or unlearn somthing.
