So. I am getting the Pearl 695 Dolce, the CODA model, and I am going to purchase a Yamaha EC headjoint to go with it

I still feel kind of bad buying it from Fluteworld and not from the music store person who has helped us a TON.. but its not my fault I sound better on the $2000 Pearl than the $4,000/$6,000 Miyazawa :P When we told her our decision she looked really sad! Hopefully she is able to order us a headjoint.. she'll get some money from that, lol. She had to see if she could. If not, we are ordering it from Fluteworld.

I just want to thank all you guys for helping me so much and answer all my billions of questions!

If you tested the EC thouroughly it's OK. But if not, give it a full try before buying. I have one and I am not very happy with the higher range, and I am talking of 3rd octave (not dreaming of playing 4th yet). Some notes are quite difficult, compared to another older student HJ I have.
And some are really very sharp...
It probably depends on your level; I had my flute checked by a first level soloist and he found it to be good and OK. But as a student, I have troubles with it...

Of course, you'll have two headjoints, so that also expands your tonal possibilities a bit.

The EC should sell for about $550-$650 last I checked, and if you don't like it in a few months, it can be sold for only a small loss.
