Hi all,

I have both of these flutes out on trial right now and I am having a very tough time deciding between the two of them. I really do like them both. On the Lyric I think the notes in the third octave speak a touch easier for me but I find that the Lyric's G-sharp lever slightly more difficult to reach than that of the Azumi. I have a lesson soon and will ask my teacher's opinion but I'd love to hear about how people here decided between two flutes when you liked both of them.

Also if anyone has a comment on the relative reliability or quality of these two brands I'd be interested in that aspect too.

Thanks!

I have tried out a few Azumi flutes and LOVED them! They are one of the best flutes you can buy for the money in my opinion. I have not tried th Lyric, but have been wanting to. I haven't heard too much about them. Maybe Flutist06 has tried one?

FWIW, G# levers are really easy to adjust for comfort..

i have tried the Azumi in the music store and i got an amazing sound out of it in the low register and thought that the tone that i got was absolutly breath-taking. Umm, i have not heard to many stories about the Lyric flute so i do not know much about it. I think that you should get what ever flute that you sound better on and what ever flute feels better under your fingers.
