recently when i was practising my scales and tounging i noticed at certain fingerings which i created myself (lol) i could hear two notes ;S. is this what they call "multiphonics"??

and i'd like to know how to perform a glissando using my open-holed flute.

lastly, sometimes after an hour and a half of practise, my notes which are tounged sounded like two notes separated by an octave (example : i hit high "D" and i hear the D below it also) is this because of lack of air or something?

your replies are much thanked.

Yes Thats a multiphonic when you play two notes at the same like that on your flute...im not quite sure how to do a gliss on the holes of your flute...I think you just move your fingers away from the holes on your key but still have the key down but the hole open...and the other thing with your D is when you just have a weird air flow.

it could be "bamboo sounds" (sp, word?) as my new teacher has been teaching me to practise. (a full relaxed mouth, open embouchure and sounding the lower octave with fingering for the third octave).
