the miyazawa

<Added>

ive had some mized reviews about all of them, but the one consistent thing is that headjoint a isnt their favorite. b and c are very close for all of them.
in order, which ones do you like and what are the reasons for it?

It is so hard for me to difine as it is hard to tell much or a difference over my crappy computer speakers. It also takes my audio player forever to load up anything and by the time I get to hear the next headjoint, I forgot what the last one sounded like. Sorry, I wish I could be more help. I can't figure out what is wrong with my computer though.

We have windows vista. Yes, my husband has tried a recovery and other things that I don't know about because I am not that computer literate. I really wish I could help, but in all honesty they all sound almost identical to me. I really would need to hear it in person.

Are you able to post on youtube? If so, what would be the best bet is if you posted on there and played them side by side for use to hear.

I am no professional but i liked the first one best. To me they were all quite similar but the first one didn't have a harsh sound like te other two. I don't know if this is because of the equipment you were using but you sounded great anyways

Hi,

Here is my 1 cent.

I like one and three. I think that three sounded a little better throughout the low to high. I think that you will get better the more you practice with the headjoint.

The number two headjoint sounded a little darker and I think that the low notes were a little muddy.

Of course, I have only been playing flute again for 3 months after more than a twenty year break.

Good luck!

people seem to like the last one and the second one. im shocked that you like the first one so much, especially since thosed are the first two "i like headjoint a" comments ive had since thursday.

strange...

i guess its all in the ear of the listener... haha.

my comments:

A- very dark sound in person. not very good articulation in the lower register. great tone, however.

B- middle of the road sound (dark but bright). most versatile of all three. crazy lower register and articulation here. not very strong pp in high register (namely the F#).

C- The brightest sound in person. very nice dynamic contrast, not very strong in the contrast area (different colors). thinnest tone.

I liked 1 but

3 sounded better throughout.

Have you decided on one yet?

youre great. those are precisely the headjoints, in that exact order.

i noticed that hearing the recordings on youtube vs. the recordings i made with a digital recorder (couldnt save the recordings and get them home), they sounded completely different.

im not sure which one i want as of yet, especially since the listeners are divided. i know whats easy to play, but if it sounds like crap to the audience, i dont want it. thats why im going to see if i can keep them for another week.

when i make a decision, i play on the one i want to throw out and i fall in love with it all over again.

<Added>

p.s. the sound isnt thin on the burkart in the high register, its just hard to play some notes soft (ex: last measure in mvt.1 of reinecke concerto).

and i gave the link of the recordings. i posted on youtube. if you would rather have the hard files, let me know.
