It`s not a normal thing that`s in much shet music. I had something like that in an african piece I played last year.
You basically lower the pitch by adjusting the way you hold your lips. Bending the pitch makes it sharp or flat. You bend a pitch on the guitar by stretching the string tighter, and it makes the note go up without jumping from one note to the other.
This is hard to simply describe and all, but here`s what to try: Move around you rlips when you play. Practice with long low notes. If you pull your lower lip in slightly, you should hear the note go down a little bit. Practice makes perfect. It takes a lot of practice to get the right kind of effect.
When I do it I usually relax my lips as I bend the pitch down, and adjust my air stream to go a bit slower. This may be tough at your level, but it`llbe good practice anyway.
Ask your director. I`m surprised you`d get something with that in it at your level. Maybe he/she doesn`t want you to do it. Maybe they can help you with the technique, or suggest something that they want you to do instead.
Give it a try. Ask for some help. Good luck.

basically what you need to do is drop your lower jaw a bit while to rotate the flute toward you, you`re trying to bend the note downward. you can also do this by leaning your head forward a bit and focusing the airstream downward more. it takes some practice to get it right but it`s a neat trick.
