I would love to submit some pieces from my new CD, but if I do so, will others be able to then share with other people? If that happens can the artist be protected?

I think this is why most podcasts are vocal, such as radio programs that have already been broadcast, as are youtube, such as an appearance on a TV or radio program, they have already taken place and only serve as a vehicle for promo, a good thing...

I think people have to sign off on it, I have certain recordings I have made recently that won't be on any CD's, so I would contribute those gladly...the CD involves composers.arrangers, etc that I have to pay royalties to

If you search in iTunes for "flute", or use Google to search for "flute podcast", you'll see that there are already some flute related podcasts. Always room for more though.

Well, I disagree that "The only good one is the magnatune". But, as I say, always room for one more.

Annie, you bring up a good point, the sound quality, one reason I have avoided youtube is because of this...if the sound quality is not professional sounding, it defeats the purpose..

tell me when you are ready to roll, I found a few recordings I am not using that I could contribute, they are all public domain, so no royalties to the composers are involved

"What other good flute podcasts have you come across? I would love to listen "
Hi Alieannie,
Have you listened to Larry Krantz' Flute radio? It's a streaming MP3 shuffle player but he's added descriptive introductions to the recordings:

Actually Larry's "broadcast" isn't streaming Radio as we know it. It's a Flash player that automatically runs a selection of random sound files that he's added an introduction for. If you notice, you do have the capability to actually cycle through the recording choices through the controls.
