I'm trying to perfect my scales with All-State coming up (we have our school auditions the first week of September and hoping I get to actually audition.. those are like October 25 I think) and I'm trying VERY hard to get my D scale to 3 octaves, but I'm having trouble with D4.. What I've found that helps me is to learn the note above what I'm trying to play but with the fingering charts it gives me like 10 different ones, but I don't know which is the "normal" fingering.. Or just any tips for learning D4? I get get it like 25% of the time but the other half its just air.. and with C#4 I get that note about 75% of the time..
Also I'm trying to get my B scale 3 octaves which isn't nearly as hard.. but I've having a few problems, mostly on the way down not slowing down on the last 3 notes -D# to C# to B. I do have a D# roller but I really think the rollers are in a spot where they don't help at all (compared to the Miyazawa D# rollers.. I loved the placement of those) My pinky seems to either hit the C key or kind of get stuck on the C# key.. Any tips for getting that? I also can't practice that much or else it really hurts my hands/pinky from pressing those down even if its not for very long..
Thanks..

I haven't had my flute adjusted since I got it (a little less than a year ago from FluteWorld) but am planning on to take it in right after our school auditions for all-state.
They just want you to play as many octaves as you can (cleanly, obviously) on scales. I'm sure there will be lots of people playing D 3 octaves and I don't want NOT playing it to dock me.. on the website it says 2 or more octaves. They don't have any more requirements than that besides tempo and that it has to be in all sixteenths or a eight and sixteenths
Is how hard I have to press for the low notes adjustable at all? I think the biggest thing for those notes and the gizmo is that my hands are so small. I physically CANNOT play D without all the plugs in my right hand because otherwise my hand would not be covering them, or I wouldn't be able to reach the gizmo.
