Hello all, I am looking to buy my girlfriend some sheet music for Joseph and the amazing tecnhicolor dreamcoat. She plays the flute but i can only find it for the alto sax. Would this sheet music be similar to that of a flute? Would she be able to use this? Apologies if this is a dumb question I am a complete musical novice! Any advice would be appreciated.

Saxophone and flute are written in different keys. If you can find it for piano or violin or something to that affect, she can use it. Other than that, she can't unless she knows how to transpose stuff. Well, I suppose she COULD use it...it would sound almost the same but their concert B flat is different from the flute's concert B flat. So I'm just going to go with, no. Sorry. Keep looking though. It's a nice idea.

The voice and piano version would be best, and is readily available. She can play the voice part on flute.
