Shocker! Looks like no-one bid though.

I've been looking out for wooden Rudall Cartes, I have a hankering for a 1867 one.

Hi Suzie.

Interesting to read your post... I was just wondering where you found out that the 'made in USA' on the Rudall Carte flute signified that it was made by Selmer.

I've trawled the net and can find no info about how these came to be made in USA. I know Boosey & Hawkes bought the company in 1940s/50s (depending on info source) so I guess that they farmed out the manufacture, but can find no connection to Selmer.

Any information would be much appreciated as I'll be relisting it soon... and would like to give as much info as possible.

Another watcher pointed me to this page by the way Weird that we have almost the same forename (mine has another n+e on the end)... maybe it's fate!

Thanks and best wishes

p.s. Yes 'no-one bid' and I hope that by 'some people' vampav8trix meant Boosey& Hawkes...?!!

Hi again

Thanks for your offer of a 'comparison collage' - that'd be helpful. If this flute was made after B&H bought the company then I don't think RC would've had any say in the matter.
