Hello! I am writing to ask about purchasing a piccolo w/ a composite headjoint. I have never played a picc w/ one before. Also, I found a P. J. Hardy picc on Ebay (all composite). I am interested in bidding. Can anyone check it out and/or offer any info on this brand and particular picc?
Thank you and happy music making!

If you've played piccolo before, it shouldn't take long to adjust to the composite headjoint. It might feel different because there is no lip plate, but like I said, shouldn't be a problem.

I used to own a PJ Hardy composite piccolo. In my experience the highest notes (G and above) were difficult to get out. I have not experienced that problem on any of the other piccolos I have played. It could have just been a dud, though. Anyone else experience this problem with PJ Hardy composite piccolos?

Good luck!
