Just wondering if anyone has ideas on where you can practice when your neighbours won`t even let you play in your own flat without banging on the ceiling and complaining?

I was actually threatened with eviction even though I was only playing for 1 hour a day at about 2PM in a flat in London. Now I haven`t played for a few months as I have nowhere else to play.

Are there any rooms that people hire or places that you can ask to practice that might be sympathetic. It`s really annoying, I don`t sound that bad and this is the longest I have not played for since I started about 6 years ago.

Find out when they are out and only play then. Try to come to an agreement with them or something. Surely there must be a way?!?!!?!?!Good luck!

That really sucks.

Are you really that bad? ha ha.

Sorry for the joke, it couldn`t be helped. I`m sure, though, you could talk to them, and maybe find a time when they WOULD be out, or see what THEY suggest you do. Flutes really aren`t THAT loud. Maybe if they just planned on playing some CD`s or something during the time you practiced, they wouldn`t even hear you.
