Hiya Suzie!

Thanks for the pics. They look fine to me. Not bad for your first time with a new cam.

I'd love to see a few closer shots of the black flutes (grenaditte? Carbon Fibre? or ???) Who's the maker and how do they play/sound?

Wish I could be there - looks like a lot of vendors to choose from. I'll be attending the Hampton Roads (VA) Flute Faire on Feb 14, but it is a much smaller event with usually just a few vendors.

Thanks again - Bob

I am trying to resist the temptation to jump in the airplane and fly down there right now.

Patrick became very crabby at the FFA as his concert was poorly attended, but did have fun meeting lots of dealers etc...

Sorry, meant to write more and I am on another comuter and it accidently posted before I was done. I get really jerky too when I am stressed and try not to take it out on others. But.. try to be forgiving. I hope things go better for you next time Patrick.

I wasn't rude to anybody, you have to understand that when someone travels a long way to play a concert, when they are being sponsored by a major manufacturer, that there is a lot of focus and concentration needed, not to mention the pressure...add to that the fact that the FFA screwed up the program and double-booked all the concerts, making things even more difficult..

I want some flute reviews!

I think i may be in the market for a new flute (it seems like mine isn't holding an adjustment like it used to and yes I take it to one of the best repairmen in the midwest) and I want to know your opinions!

Oh, and I'll probably make the trek to the NFA convention later this year (I hope... if I have enough money, heh)

Which ones would you like to know about. The Arista flute was my favorite one there and then I fell in love with a Haynes Classic. Resonas are great. Kind of on the brighter side like the Burkarts, but still great. I thought the newer Sonares were pretty good too and the headjoints seem to have improved. I also thought that the Altus flutes have improved and I like them. All the Brios I tried were also very good. Muramatsu was wonderful as always. I didn't much care for any of the Brios. (Suz has a good story about that one ) Gosh.. all the handmades were great! Brannens are also incredible. My favorite feel, overall mechanism was the Muramatsu flutes. They are really hard to beat in that category. Even over the Brogger system flutes. I heard some really fantastic flutists trying out all these flutes too and met some great and not so great artist too. It was a lot of fun!
