Though I have presented this idea in another thread, I think it could be interesting to discuss as a new subject. I would like to explore the possible relationship of poetry with music:

The challenge is to define "Poetry", a very elusive concept, IMO.

What would be your definition of poetry?:

My attempt: "Poetry is everything written (or spoken) in words, but that sounds musical"

Yours:?

I do find poetry to be rhythmic and it flows like a piece of music. I believe that poetry attempts to inspire or express a feeling, also similar to music.

A dance of emotions through words from the heart. A story is often to be told through poetry and music. Therapy for the writer and performer in itself. Taken and processed differently to each ear and mind. Never ending notes and words conversed through time with each performance different.

Another, more simple:

"Poetry is the music of words"
