Hey guys! Well, I didn't do to good on my audition yesterday, but I'm 1st chair in Region Band. And I'm also 1st chair in All-County. I messed up really badly on my chromatic, and if you do that you basically won't make it to All-State. Man, I'm really kinda upset about that though 'cause I got such a good score in my first audition!! (196 out of 200) In fact in the first audition there was only one person in the state who scored higher than me! Oh well, all my other band member friends didn't make it either so I don't feel too bad about it. But, this happened last year too! But, last year I ranked number 8 in the region this year I'm #1. So I guess I have improved.

Good job! There's always next year. It's so tough when it's comes to competing against other flutists...there are just too many. But you still did great in the region auditions. My all-state auditions are next week.

That's flute life! :S I love playing live because you are creating and sharing music at the moment. It's fun, and special. Nevertheless, there is this stupid thing about it that you do mess up occasionally.

So the worst thing ever happened: My school withdrew from All-State! LOL! And I've been practicing that darn piece for how long?!

They did what?!?!?! Why?!?

No WAY!!!!! Why? That's rubbish! Poor you!

Ah, the life of the flautist. So many notes, so little time. Well, I failed on two different instruments if it makes you feel any better. There's always next year.

I can't believe a school withdrew ! I've never heard of that....

There're just too many flute players in the world, population getting larger and larger with lots of younger starters (some started at 4,5,6 here), it becomes the 3rd most played instrument here(1st piano, 2nd violin).

So, flute_bassoon is very wise, bassoon has far less competition!

I feel for you, don't tell anyone, my weakest foundamental is chromatics! For me it's SO difficult to play each half notes EVENLY.... I can always hear unevenness in my chromatics, chromatic is so much harder than you can imagine.

I know the flute is really popular that's why I started taking oboe! I want to take bassoon really bad!

I really want to try an alto or bass flute! I have giant hands!
I would also like to try a baritone sax! It looks so fun! Plus bass parts are easier!

Oh I would love to play bass flute!!!!
